Game Recap:   In their 2016-17 season opener, the Black Knights varsity men's squad dropped their season opener, 2-0 to the Nauset Warriors in the first game of the SJP 2 Hockey faceoff. Austin Hirschberger tallied a power play goal and Devin Roderick added an empty net goal while Rob Silva added two assists to clinch the win. The Knights were able to muster only seven shots on goal in the contest, and they drew only two minor penalties in the loss. Sophomore goaltender A.J. Scott turned aside 27 shots for Stoughton.

Game Recap:    Jon Lessa's goal early in the third period lifted the Black Knights to a 2-1 win over Pope John Paul II in the first ever meeting between the schools. Brendan Campbell also scored for Stoughton, while A.J. Scott turned aside 16 shots to preserve the win. With the victory Stoughton squared their record at 1-1 and finished in third place in the SJP 2 Hockey Faceoff tournament (Nauset was the winner).

Game Recap:  Three third period goals erased a 1-0 deficit and sent the Bourne Canalmen to a 3-1 victory over the Black Knights at the Gallo Arena in the opening game of the Canalmen Classic tournament. Sean Doherty scored the only goal for Stoughton, while A.J. Scott made 25 saves in net. With the defeat the Black Knights moved on to the consolation game of the tournament to face Cape Cod Tech.

Game Recap:  Cole Therrien scored a pair of goals and added an assist while Andrew Mead added a goal and a pair of assists to power Cape Cod Tech to a 6-2 win over the Black Knights in the third place game of the Canalmen Classic at the Gallo Arena in Bourne in the first ever meeting between the teams. Jon Lessa and Josh Hough scored for the Black Knights while Brendan Campbell added a pair of assists. A.J. Scott turned aside 25 shots, and Kyle Fraga made his season debut in relief, allowing a goal in the only shot he faced.

Game Recap:  Ryan Chipman's 5-on-3 power play goal with 2:02 remaining in the second period lifted the Black Knights to a 1-1 tie with the red hot Taunton Tigers at the Asiaf Arena. Jordan Hoey scored for the Tigers, who had come into the game with a spotless 4-0-0 record, outscoring their opponents by a 38-4 margin. A.J. Scott was strong in goal for the Knights again, turning aside 28 shots.

Game Recap: Sean Doherty scored a hat trick and added an assist, Jon Lessa and Ryan Chipman scored twice each and Brendan Campbell dished out four assists to lead the Black Knights to an 8-2 victory over Apponequet/Connolly at the Driscoll Arena in Fall River. Stoughton set season highs in multiple offensive categories in the contest. A.J. Scott picked up his second win of the season in goal, turning aside 20 shots before turning things over to Kyle Fraga for the final 2:15. Stoughton improved to 2-6-1 with the victory. The Black Knights also scored their first shorthanded goal of the season, off the stick of Sean Doherty. Doherty's hat trick was the first for a Stoughton player since Mark Sheehan scored three at Apponequet on 2-16-14. The Black Knights also scored in the first period for the first time this season. Kyle Oliviera scored both goals for Apponequet/Connolly.

Game Recap:   Johnny Hagan netted a hat trick and Ryan Nolte added a goal and an assist to lead the Canton Bulldogs to a 6-1 win over the Black Knights at the Asiaf Arena. Sean Doherty scored the only goal for Stoughton, while A.J. Scott was stellar in goal, making a career high 59 saves. The game featured only one penalty, the first time that had happened in a Stoughton game since February 4, 2015, in a game at Franklin.

Zammiello would score three times in the first period to key a five goal first period to send North on their way. Jon Lessa scored the lone goal for Stoughton, lighting the lamp early in the third. A.J. Scott turned aside 46 shots in the defeat, logging 43:30 of game time. Kyle Fraga finished, allowing one goal on two shots. The game also featured no penalties called on either team, the second time that situation occurred in less than a two week span (the game at Bellingham on 1/24 also featured no penalties as well).

Game Recap:  In an offensive explosion, the men's varsity team got four goals and two assists from Brendan Campbell, plus a hat trick from Sean Doherty, to defeat the Foxboro Warriors 8-2 at the Foxboro Sports Center. Jon Lessa would contribute four assists in the win, a game in which Stoughton would tie a season high in goals scored. It marked the first time since 1/19/13 that two Stoughton players would score a hat trick in the same game, and the first time since 2-19-11 that any Stoughton player would score four goals in a game. A.J. Scott made 26 saves in goal.

Game Recap:   On senior night at Asiaf Arena, the Black Knights sent the seniors off with a win, defeating the Norton Lancers 3-1 to close the 2016-17 season. Capping off a run which saw Stoughton win four of it's last five games, the Knights got offensive contributions from three different players, as Luke Bainton, Sean Doherty and Brendan Campbell all lit the lamp in the contest. Doherty would also chip in with an assist for a multi-point night, as did Campbell. In terms of goaltending, A.J. Scott capped off a brilliant campaign by fending off 18 Norton shots out of the 19 that came his way. With the win Stoughton capped the season with a 7-12-2 record.
